De l'aube

Two years passed since I uploaded the first version of De l'aube here on deviantART. One thing you didn't know, that version was not complete.

After one month of work, I am proud to present you the completed version of that painting. -Louis-Thomas P. on June 20th, 2005.

On this day, the death of spring is imminent...

De l'aube

J’ai vu un homme se noyer, ce matin, à l’aube
Égaré de silences, de lourdes splendeurs
J’ai goûté cette forêt s’élever dans l’ombre
Telle une aile, se replie et désire s’échapper

Une voix lointaine, et pourtant si présente
Qu’insinue en moi la plus pure décadence
Le vice croît, mon cœur bat; je me sens avilir
Cette paix, et ce calme, qui voudraient m’envahir


(Translated: )

I saw a man drown, this morning, at dawn
Distraught of silences, of heavy magnificence
I tasted the trees rising into the shadows
As the wing, it withdraws (into itself) and ask to escape

A voice, distant, but so tangible
Insinuate in me a pure decadence
The vice grows, the heart beats; I see myself degrading
This peace, this calmness, that should be invading
