L'envol

Une mer se dévoile sous des cieux assombris;
Une mer qui s’étale, désirs noirs et envies.
Une piste, dans l’ombre, s’éloigne du rivage
Que se noient mes espoirs dans l’écume de l’âge.

Que de présages s’envolent, ce soir dans l’oubli.
Que d’ivresses s’éteignent enfin dans l’ennui.
Ces pas qui me guident, m’élèvent, me libèrent,
Puis tombent à la nuit, que se taisent les chimères.


Translated:

The Flight

The sea unveils under darkened skies;
The sea spreads, black desires and cravings.
A trail, in the shadows, grows away from the shore
May my hopes be drowned in the foam of the years.

So much omens that fly away, tonight, forgotten.
So much raptures left dead, now bored.
Those traces I followed, they freed me,
And I fell to the night, may the dreams be shut.


This painting has been finished one year ago -I wrote the poem at that time- and completed one month ago. Months of painting and meditation on the meaning of... [I'll let you find by yourself.]

Oh wow, I really love this painting. You did a lovely job with the waves--the ocean is an extremely difficult subject to paint.

Beautiful piece. The ocean looks so realistic. Love the depth of the picture, the choice of scenerey...To be honest I love everything! :) :+fav:
